I’m Israel de Jesús Legonier Aguilera, a Cuban fine artist and tattoo artist with more than 20 years in the art world. I trained at a fine arts academy, which is why my work always aims for original designs that blend styles. I don’t copy tattoos — I create originals, designed from scratch for each client.

How do I book a session?

Send your idea through the appointment form. I reply with a design approach, the recommended size and available dates. A $200 deposit secures your date.

How much does a tattoo cost?

Sessions are $1,800 each, and the original design is included.

Do you copy tattoos or designs from the internet?

No. Every piece is an original design created from scratch for you. You can send references for style and mood, and I turn them into something that is only yours.

Which styles do you work in?

Black & grey realism is my specialty. I also work in full color, mixed styles that combine both, and pop-culture pieces. You can filter my portfolio by style.

Where is the studio and when are you open?

I’m the resident artist at The Secret Tattoo Studio, 525 N Howard Ave, Tampa, FL 33606. Monday to Saturday 11am–7pm and Sunday 12–8pm, by appointment only.

Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed.

How do I take care of my new tattoo?

Always follow the instructions you receive at the end of your session. In general:

Wash gently with lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap, then pat dry with a clean paper towel.
Apply a thin layer of unscented aftercare lotion or ointment a few times a day.
Don’t pick or scratch scabs or peeling skin.
Avoid pools, the ocean, hot tubs and long baths, and keep it out of direct sun while it heals.
Once healed, use sunscreen on it to keep the colors and greys sharp.
